Primeurs 2024: When innovation sublimates tradition at Château Pape Clément

30 Apr 2025 | News

Primeurs week, an annual event not to be missed by wine professionals from all over the world, once again took place in the prestigious setting of Château Pape Clément. While tastings of the 2024 vintages of Bernard Magrez's grands crus classés naturally took center stage, innovation also played a leading role thanks to the exceptional presence of startups supported by the Bernard Magrez Start-Up Win incubator.

Eight startups to bring lasting change to the world of wine

During this week dedicated to discovering the promise of the new vintage, professionals were able to explore the innovative solutions proposed by eight startups supported by the Bernard Magrez incubator. Each of them tackles issues that are essential to the development of the wine industry:

GrapeTrack : Automated creation of regulatory nutrition QR codes for back labels, facilitating communication between analysis laboratories and winemakers.

Labox Applications: Digital cellar assistant to optimize wine and spirits production processes.

Oenoco: Design of products to encourage the return of deposits in the wine world, for a more virtuous and environmentally-friendly distribution model.

STARFISH Bioscience: Regeneration of wine-growing soils using biostimulants derived from microbial ecosystems.

Surus Connect: Digital solutions for prevention and safety in the agri-viticultural sector.

Vinsulation : Recyclable, biodegradable, eco-designed shipping containers for wine bottles, made from winegrowing "waste".

Winespace: Data and AI solutions for wine professionals in the processing and analysis of oenological texts.

Worldwide Agriculture Intelligence Data: Wine intelligence platform to connect consumers and promote the world's wines, with the ambition of positioning Bordeaux as an international hub.

Artificial intelligence at the service of Primeurs

One of the key innovations of this Primeurs week was Maison Bernard Magrez's partnership with startup Winespace to offer a digital tasting notebook. Thanks to this tool, comments from professionals were collected and analyzed in real time, to define the aromatic profile of the 2024 vintage at the end of the week.

This innovative approach shows how artificial intelligence can enrich traditional tastings, while enhancing the know-how of wine experts. It's a fine example of how technology can be integrated to benefit wine industry professionals.
