Created in June 2020, Vinea Énergie offers winegrowers in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region a collection, disposal and recycling service for vines left over from uprooting. This collection service offers winegrowers an alternative to open-air burning, reducing the CO2 emissions and fine particles associated with this practice. Once collected, winegrowing waste is recycled into wood-energy on its processing platforms located in the heart of the vineyards, in order to contribute to territorial energy. Since October 2023, this process has been governed by a carbon offsetting method that enables winegrowers to be compensated for up to 90% of collection and reprocessing costs.
